With an extraordinarily loyal alumni base and deeply committed volunteers, Cornell University is considered one of the nation’s highest-performing fundraising operations, historically ranked in the top five to ten annually. Its most recent campaign, Cornell Now — The Campaign for Cornell set new records for dollars raised and participation. The Campaign, which began in 2006, concluded in December 2015, raising $6.3B.

Cornell Law School is a top-tier law school that combines inspired teaching with cutting-edge scholarship in an intimate and collegial intellectual community. Through its rich classroom curriculum and extensive clinical offerings, it develops broad-minded and technically sophisticated lawyers and leaders.

Cornell Law School is viewed as a high-functioning fundraising unit with additional upside potential. As the new chief development officer, the Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs and Development will play a key role in elevating this premier law school to even greater prominence.

The Associate Dean will provide innovative leadership and strategic vision to all aspects of the fundraising activities. S/He will manage and inspire a staff across all areas of annual fund, individual giving, and alumni relations, and serve as the primary thought partner to Dean Eduardo Peñalver, a charismatic, thoughtful, and visionary leader highly supportive of fundraising.
