New England Public Radio (WFCR and WNNZ) seeks a Director of Development & Major Gifts to lead the fundraising efforts of one of the nation’s most successful mid-market public radio stations.
The Director is responsible for leading a seasoned fundraising staff whose efforts bring in over $3.4 million in annual support from individuals and businesses through personal solicitations, direct mail, telemarketing, on-air and on-line fund raising, underwriting and special events, and also oversees the outreach and marketing efforts of the station. The Director is also responsible for raising gifts of $10,000 or more, and maintaining a portfolio of prospects and donors through robust interactions that advance their relationships with NEPR and lead to progressively larger gifts.
NEPR is located in the heart of the beautiful Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts, a region renowned for distinguished educational institutions and a vibrant artistic and cultural life, and close to Boston and New York City. NEPR has just moved to a new state-of-the-art facility in Springfield.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in development for non-profits or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated fiscal management and supervisory experience, including the ability to retain high-performing staff and work with diverse populations. Superior communication skills: verbal, written and presentation; must be adept at building and maintaining strong donor relationships. Must be well-organized and attentive to detail, able to work as part of a management team, and manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency required in Word and Excel. Some knowledge of databases is desirable.
