Executive Director – Foodnet Meals on Wheels, Ithaca, NY
Foodnet Meals on Wheels (http://www.foodnet.org) seeks a visionary leader and strategic thinker to succeed our retiring 30-year founding Executive Director (ED). The ED will be responsible for development and implementation of a strategic plan, fund development, and administrative oversight of Foodnet. The ED will provide effective leadership and management of all aspects of Foodnet, including 15 full-time staff, 7 part-time staff, and 100 volunteers, and a
$1M+ budget. Additional duties will include community outreach, marketing, risk management, and coordination with all Foodnet funders. The ED will work in partnership with and report to the Board of Directors and serve as the public face and spokesperson of Foodnet.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a strong leader with at least three years of executive experience in managing an organization, demonstrating the ability to plan strategically and to achieve goals. Transparent leadership abilities emphasizing mutual respect, integrity, and resourcefulness are required. A track record of sound financial, personnel, and program management is required. Creative fund development and effective community relations experience are strongly desired. Experience in administration of federal, state, and local grants and contracts is desired. Experience in provision of nutritional services for older adults is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, a master’s degree preferred.
Background: Foodnet is a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation organized in 1987 to provide meals and other nutrition services that promote dignity, well being and independence for older adults and other persons in need in Tompkins County. Foodnet envisions a community in which senior hunger is eliminated, supportive services are readily accessible, and our neighbors enjoy independence without isolation.
The ED position is available January 1, 2017. Annual salary is in the high $80’s, with a fully competitive benefits package.
